Yesterday I ventured up to the wilderness surrounding Penn Station known by most New Yorkers as "Craptown". As I stood on the corner of 33rd and 7th waiting for my friend Hsu I noticed a passerby sporting a shirt which stated "I am Hip-Hop". I had no idea. All this time I thought it was a movement in music which had it's start in the Bronx back in the late seventies.
A short time later, as I strolled back downtown to my office, I passed a girl wearing a shirt which declared "Hip Hop is Dead". So sad. Life can turn on a dime.
